Agora. Organic Cypriot Meze

Agora. Organic Cypriot Meze

The next time you are in the central square of the Pafos area, you must stop in and say hello to Natalie and Costas at Agora! They have created a truly warm and homely environment in one of the first ever buildings built in the Pafos center. A neoclassic beauty with parts of its original wall peaking out from behind the layers of concrete pasted on top, over and over again. And this is not even the best part!

Natalie and Costa carefully prepare a set meze menu using for the most part organic products brought to them every morning fresh off the field and right to their doorstep by the farmers in the district. Whatever the field  has to offer on that specific day is what Natalie and Costa will then use to prepare probably the most deliciously mouthwatering  meze I have tried in a very long time. Agora’s meze consists of many small dished, many of which are both vegetarian and vegan. They use local products to create well known Cypriot recipes, some of which, with a slight twist.

The taste of the Mediterranean with a sprinkle of the Middle East is literally spread out right in front of you and there is nothing more inviting, especially when it is made with such passion and appreciation for food and local organic produce.

Tell them I said hi and don’t miss out on their grilled aubergine covered with crushed walnut, carob spread!

Preferably Pure’ s guide to dining out in Cyprus for Vegetarians, Vegans and Clean Eaters, including new restaurants or eateries in your town that offer a variety of options including the editor’s favourite dishes.
